Requirements Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent qualification (e.g. Chief Engineer with extensive seagoing experience).
Several years of experience as a Technical Superintendent, ideally in a senior or leadership role within ship management or ship ownership.
Proven experience in drydock planning, project management and commercial negotiations.
Familiarity with audits, quality systems, and innovative maritime technologies (e.g. dual-fuel engines, hybrid propulsion, digital monitoring tools).
Strong leadership and communication skills, coupled with a hands-on, accountable approach.
Responsibilities Oversee the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical operation of assigned vessels, ensuring alignment with company and owner objectives.
Lead and manage maintenance, repair, and drydocking projects, including budget responsibility and quality assurance.
Serve as the main technical contact for clients, maintaining long-term and trust-based relationships.
Plan and coordinate major conversions, modernization projects, and technical upgrades.
Conduct regular vessel visits, inspections and technical audits, implementing improvement measures where required.
Approve and monitor technical expenditures in line with budget and company policies.
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations while promoting sustainability initiatives.
Mentor and support junior team members, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
